A few types of batteries are: Sealed Lead Acid, Flooded Lead Acid, Ni-Cad, Alkaline, Silver Oxide, Lithium, Mercury (not mfg in US any more), Manganese-Dioxide, Zinc-Air, and Ni-MH.
